Every laser tattoo removal works the same basic way: light passes through the skin and breaks up ink so your body can clear it. The difference is how it breaks it up.
Many clinics still use nanosecond (Q-switched) lasers. They work largely by heating the ink, and that heat spreads into the surrounding skin. More heat means more discomfort, more irritation, and more downtime.
PicoWay, one of the newest and most advanced tattoo removal lasers available, works in picoseconds instead: pulses roughly 1,000 times shorter. The energy hits so fast that it shatters ink with a pressure wave rather than cooking it. Less heat reaches your skin, so treatments are more comfortable and your skin recovers faster between sessions. Because PicoWay needs less energy to do the job, it also reduces the risk of scarring and pigment changes.
